From 2003 to 2006 the company was based in Erfurt / Thuringia, and in March 2006 the company moved to its current location in Wernigerode / Saxony-Anhalt. DieMount develops and manufactures electro-optical modules according to a new, patented process for fiber-chip coupling.

DieMount's products are particularly aimed at the following markets:

Optical transmission technology for data networks close to subscribers (focus on systems for optical polymer fibers)

Fiber optic sensors

Lighting technology with LED

DieMount currently has an area of 300 square meters to manufacture the optical modules, 70 square meters of which are designed as a clean room for performing die and wire bonding work. DieMount currently has five employees.

From January 2003 to September 2005, the company was funded by an innovation project on the subject of “Micro-structured coupling elements for the highly efficient coupling of opto-electronic semiconductors with optical fibers” included in the FUTOUR2000 program. From January 2006 to September 2008 DieMount was project partner of the European joint project POF-ALL, which dealt with the development of the next generation of data transmission systems for POF. In the past 3 years DieMount has participated in the national joint projects “Multifunctional optical polymer fibers”, MOPF, and “Novel packaging process for PowerLED chips for fiber optic and direct lighting”, NEPAL, and “High Speed POF”, HSP.
