DIENES - a company with tradition

DIENES  as Apparatebau GmbH are a company with tradition and experience that was founded in 1930 by Fritz DIENES in Mühlheim am Main. Starting with the manufacture of electric toys with heating applications, the focus in the economic boom was on the development and implementation of small and medium-sized heaters and radiant heaters for industrial use.

The quality and reliability of DIENES products enabled the development of new sales markets. At the end of the 1950s, contact was made with the textile industry in the greater Frankfurt area. In the years that followed, this resulted in close collaborations for pioneering developments. Starting with industrial switchgear, specially coordinated control systems for the textile industry were soon implemented.

Building on the experiences from the first few years, DIENES increasingly researched heating technologies for the emerging manufacturing processes for yarns made from man-made fibers. This resulted in the implementation of heating processes for the production of polyamide fibers - better known today under the trade names nylon or perlon.

The basics worked out during this time formed the foundation for the further development and construction of heating equipment and control units as well as godets and thread guides, so that DIENES could soon equip complete draw fields for draw twists and draw winding machines.

The 80s, under the leadership of Wolfgang Gehrmann and Max Broßmer, were significantly characterized by further developments in the product range. DIENES godets became more efficient and the resulting temperature uniformities higher. This led to the development of the first multi-zone pallet in 1988  , which soon became the standard in the polyamide and polyester industry. High-precision heaters for texturing processes and for sheet stretching systems were also supplied. The introduction of the contactless measurement transmission system Rototronik ®  represents a milestone in electronics development . An essential step towards improving DIENES godets.

At the beginning of the 1990s, DIENES presented the all-in-one godet, a pioneering integration of mechanics and electronics, which is still used today in numerous spinning machines around the world.

Today we as DIENES are not only a specialist for godets, heating systems and their control, but are also able to deliver complete systems including process engineering parts through close cooperation with partners . These DIENES MultiMode ® installations enable researchers and process developers worldwide to continuously improve textile processes with a high degree of precision.

The DIENES research department is constantly developing products from the standard scope of delivery and thus enables the mechanical and thermal treatment of technical yarns, foils and tapes made of new materials by repeatedly raising performance limits. This means that today we can  offer thermal treatments at  temperatures of up to 700 ° C and  cover a speed range of 0.1 - 8,000 m / min with complex drives .
